Amazing Earth Holes Top 3

The Kimberley Mine can be found in the Kimberley, South Africa known to be the largest open-pit and underground mine excavated by hand. It is also known as the " Big Hole " it has a surface of 17 hectares (42 acres) and is 463 meters (1,519 ft) wide.




The hole measures 240 meters deep ( 790 FT ) for the record but debris partially infilled it's depth as years go by  leaving the measure to 705 ft or 215 meters depth.

Darvasa's gate to hell was discovered by soviet geologists in 1971 accidentally while drilling into a cavern filled with natural gas, the ground beneath the rig collapsed leaving a 70 meters wide hole (230 ft) this hole releases methane which is relatively potent greenhouse gas and can be a high global warming potential to earth. To avoid the poisonous gas discharge the geologist decided to burn it off to use all the fuel in a matter of days but the gas is still burning up to this day.

 Great Blue Hole ( Belize )

This large submarine sinkhole can be found in Belize its circular hole measures over 300 m (984 ft) across and 124 m (407 ft ) deep. This one comes on the top 10 list of all scuba diver's must visit place because it is not only enormous but it is also rich with thousands of aqua marine resources and spectacular beauty of underwater experience. This amazing underwater hole is believed to be formed 60,000 years ago.
